SILVER BAY UPDATE – 24 SEPTEMBER 2020

Dear Owner

Following the new Welsh Government guidelines announced today, the first minister has included in these measures that face masks must be worn by staff and customers in all public areas, this includes reception and all the facilities.

Face masks must therefore be worn at all times when picking up an order from The Deck House or until you are seated at your table, they may then be removed whilst you eat or drink. They must also be used whilst you visit any of the public areas and conveniences.

As customers are now only to be served at the table, it is essential to book for both food and drinks, please note that bookings are also limited to groups of 6 people. Please book your table by phoning the Deck House directly on 01407 862046.

Also to comply with restricted opening hours, The Deckhouse will now close at the earlier time of 10pm.

When you arrive at the Deck House, Reception or Spa Complex, please scan the QR code displayed using the NHS Covid 19 app. We may additionally ask that you sign and complete a visitors register for our own track and trace records.

Some areas of Wales may be under stricter local lockdown measures which include restricted travel. Please act responsibly if local restrictions are implemented for second homeowners as we are aware that police checks onto the island will be conducted.

Thank you for your continued support.

SILVER BAY SPA UPDATE – 7 AUGUST 2020

Dear Owner

This weekend we would like to share with you our thoughts and plans for the re-opening of our leisure gym on Monday 10th August, together with our pool and spa in the very near future, what that will look like to ensure social distancing, and most importantly how we can help re-start your exercise regime.

We are excited to be able to have a positive impact when we begin the limited re-opening of our facilities in line with Welsh government guidelines.

Our reopening plans for our leisure gyms, pool and spa will focus on ensuring we have safe, hygienic facilities that make the most of our unique indoor spaces, ensuring we can give you plenty of space to use for your chosen exercise.

We need to restrict customer flow in each activity area to ensure social distancing and to ensure that you can have an allocated session so:

  • All gym sessions must be pre-booked online via our book when link before you set off for the facility …www.bookwhen.com/bayactivities
  • The Gym booking system will allow a single 45-minute session.
  • You must bring relevant proof of your booking reference to gain entry – and you will need to turn up on time, (but not early!)
  • Gym equipment will be spaced normally and limited to 5 users only.
  • We have not restricted the equipment, to enable each user to get the full use from each piece of equipment, however, we ask that you observe social distancing at all times and work with other gym users to observe the same.
  • We need to ensure a fair allocation of time for each customer therefore, all sessions will be limited to 45 minutes. The 45-minute slot will include the allowance for safe arrival, movement through the centre and leaving the premises
  • No changing rooms or showers will be available.

We need to maintain cleanliness and hygiene for all so:

  • We will have an enhanced cleaning regime after every session.
  • There will be cleaning equipment by each gym station and we ask you to use it before and after each exercise. This includes wiping down exercise mats
  • There will be hand gel readily available which you should use before you touch any equipment
  • All customers should bring a clean towel with them and your own water bottle as the dispenser is not in use.
  • You must exercise social distancing at all times and respect other users

We will let you know as soon as we have firmer dates for the pool Spa and beauty treatments opening…

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate “the new normal” together – and we hope that with these new systems in place it will be easy for everyone to adopt moving forward.

Chris Buckley

Operations Manager.

SILVER BAY PARK UPDATE – 14 JULY 2020

Dear All

Based on your questions and feedback, please see below some of the questions being asked during our first week of operation. Whilst extensive Welsh government guidelines are available to everyone, the following questions and answers are the ones being asked most frequently. It is imperative that we work together to adhere and comply fully with these government guidelines to protect our operational license or we will have no choice but to close Silver Bay for everyone’s safety.

Track and Trace How does this apply to Silver Bay?

Test, Trace, Track and Protect strategy in Wales is key in controlling the spread of new outbreaks and as a business operating in sectors where there is a higher risk of transmitting COVID-19, we have a key role to play in supporting contact tracing and keeping Wales safe which we take very seriously.

Without the track and trace operating 100% we may not be able to remain open, so we are asking everyone to comply with the requests.

What do I need to do?

We are using an SMS messaging service to record your occupation. Please save this new number 07984356886 under Track and Trace SB. When you arrive at the park text the ‘Track and Trace SB’ number with your PLOT NUMBER and the word ARRIVED. Similarly, when you are leaving at the end of your stay enter PLOT NUMBER and the word DEPART and press send. This only needs to be done when you arrive from your primary residence and when you leave the park to return to your primary residence. If a member of your family registers as leaving the park to go home but another member is staying the members staying must re-register using the same process. You do not need to let us know when you leave the park for shopping for example.

Why do you need to maintain records of owners and visitors?

We are required to maintain records of owners and visitors, and share these with the NHS Wales Test, Trace, protect service when requested. In doing this we can help to identify people who may have been exposed to the virus and are asymptomatic.

Can I invite family and friends to visit us at Silver Bay?

  • No, unless they are part of your extended household.
  • People should not gather indoors with anyone who is not a member of their household or extended household.
  • People must not gather in outdoor public places other than with members of one other household.
  • If you have given permission for family or friends to use your holiday home in your absence, they can only occupy the unit 72 hours after the previous occupant’s departure. Similarly, you must register your visitors using the owner visitor forms in advance and they must also adhere to the track and trace protocol described above.

What is a household or extended household?

This is where two households can join to form an extended household. This means all the people living in these two separate households will become part of one extended household for the purposes of the coronavirus restrictions. They can meet indoors, have physical contact, and stay in each other’s homes provided they are the nominated protective bubble.

Can I have food deliveries?

Yes, you can organise food deliveries, however, you must meet the despatch driver at the main entrance to allow them access.

Am I allowed to meet up with other owners/visitors outdoors?

Members of two separate households are allowed to meet outdoors as long as you maintain social distancing. This does not need to be the same people from the same household every time. You can only meet members of one other household at a time and this must be outdoors.

How many people am I allowed to see at any one time?

As long as only two households are meeting, there is no restriction on the number of people who can meet outdoors at any one time. Gathering with members of more than one other household at the same time, however, is still not allowed under the coronavirus regulations.

Are picnics and barbecues with another household allowed?

Yes, if you remain outside. You should maintain physical distancing and should not share or use the same items as the other extended household, for example plates, cups, and food packages.

Can children play together on the park?

Members of two separate households are allowed to meet outdoors as long as you maintain social distancing. However, children should not be allowed to roam unsupervised around the park so that they do not, albeit inadvertently, break social distancing rules.

Is the playpark open?

No, play parks are currently closed by law with conditional plans to reopen on 20th July. When the play park does reopen, parents should not permit children to enter the play area unaccompanied, or when it is already occupied such that social distancing cannot be observed.

Is the Deckhouse Open and can I order food?

The Deckhouse is currently offering a limited menu ‘takeaway service’. Please click on the link to order  https://silverbay.touchtakeaway.net/menu

Can I use the patio area outside the Deckhouse to eat and drink?

Pubs, bars, and restaurants can open outdoors from the 13th of July. A table outside The Deckhouse must be reserved and drinks will be served with meals only. To book a table please click on the following link https://silverbay.touchreservation.net/reservation

When will the Deckhouse be able to open indoors?

There are conditional plans to reopen indoor hospitality on the 3rd of August.

Why are Reception services restricted?

Some services including newspapers and signing of parcel or courier deliveries on behalf of owners are restricted at this time to minimise contact and to help reduce the spread of the virus.

What maintenance work can be carried out?

To minimise contact and to help reduce the spread of the virus, only emergency maintenance will be carried out to owners units which will include gas, electric, or water repairs.

Why are the outdoor toilets and the launderette closed?

These facilities are currently closed by law. Conditional plans are in place to reopen these facilities on 25th July.

Is the beachside café open?

The beachside café will be open from Saturday 18th July and during the week subject to weather conditions. Contactless payment only.

Are the beach toilets open?

These facilities are currently closed with conditional plans to reopen on the 25th of July.

Can I go out on my boat?

Yes, you are now able to travel outside your local area on your boat, and there are no longer limits on where you can dock. It is also permitted for you and members of your household to stay overnight on your boat. Activities should only be undertaken with crews of people from the same household. Boaters are advised to be mindful of the potential impact that you could have on other water users and to not place unnecessary pressure on the RNLI, Coastguard, and Emergency services. Please call Reception to organise access to the new gate on 01407860860.

Can I use the swimming pool, hot tub, steam room, and sauna?

No, these facilities are closed by law until further notice.

Can I use the gym or attend fitness classes?

No, these facilities are currently closed by law until further notice.

Can I play tennis?

Yes, the tennis court is now open by law. However, you can only participate with members of your own household and members of one other household. Team sports and gatherings of people from more than two households undertaking leisure or recreation activities together are not allowed. Please book via the following link https://bookwhen.com/bayactivities

Who can I play sport or exercise with?

You must play sport or exercise alone, with members of your household or with members of one other household.

Will there be activities for children and adults?

As further restrictions are lifted, a limited schedule of activities will be available

What will happen if someone on-site displays symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19?

If someone on-site displays symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19 then they (and anyone travelling with them) should return home. They must use the most direct route and should not use public transport. They should then self-isolate immediately and follow the self-isolation guidance. The person with symptoms should apply for a free COVID-19 antigen test at a convenient location close to their home as soon as possible. Government guidance states “if you develop symptoms, however mild, or you have received a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test result, then you should immediately self-isolate at home for at least 7 days from when your symptoms started. If you live with others, all other household members who remain well must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days.”

What if I am not well enough to travel home?

Visitors coming to stay in Wales should consider the logistical implications around developing COVID-19 symptoms before traveling. You must be prepared to cover the cost of organising private transport home if you are symptomatic and unable to drive yourself.

Thank you for your help and support in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of everyone here at Silver Bay.

As soon as we are given permission to open the restaurant, we have all the processes in place to help provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all the family including food ordering and payment service via a dedicated app, screened areas, and safe distance signage.

Other Facilities and Services;

As the advice is changing on a daily basis, we’ll aim to keep you updated on the future services that we are able to provide such as The Spa Gymnasium and Busy Bayers.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate “the new normal” together and we are really pleased to bring you some well awaited Good News.

Thank you for your continued support.
