As dog friendly holiday parks, we know the importance of having lots of pooch-pleasing activities lined up when you come to stay with us. So, as a matter of high importance, we’ve been out and about, finding great places for you to visit around Anglesey when you next stay with us. Take a look below at our six dog friendly adventures around Anglesey.

Silver Bay Beach

A short 5-minute walk along the private footpath and you’ve arrived at the beautiful sandy beach of Silver Bay. On a sunny day, it can feel like you’re simply strolling along the shores of a Greek Island.

This clean beach provides your four-legged friend ample running space and the calm waves in the icy blue clear water are ideal for a game of fetch. If you fancy a bit more of a challenge a right turn before you get to the beach will take you along a coastal path of grassy sand dunes and open out onto Rhoscolyn beach and further along, Treadurr Bay.

The White Eagle

There’s no better place to unwind and relax with your pooch than the White Eagle, just a short drive from Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn. The friendly staff will immediately provide your dog with a drinking bowl and of course most importantly plenty of fuss, treats and cuddles. To quench your own thirst the pub is well known for serving real ales and has a fantastic selection of wines. Dogs are welcome inside in the snug and outside on their balcony area.

The Menai Strait

Sites, seas and smells oh my! Just beyond the shores of Beaumaris is a small island known as Puffin Island. A guided dog-friendly boat trip with Seacoast Safaris will show you the best of the Menai strait with a trip up to the island. Its rocky face inhabits an array of birds like puffins, shags and kittiwakes; and the shores themselves are home to seals, dolphins and porpoises.

Red Wharf Bay

A hotspot for water sports lovers Red Wharf Bay, bordered by salt marshes and sand dunes is a great spot for a dog-friendly walk along the east coast of the island. There are no restrictions on this beach and so your dog is free to explore and chase all of the seagulls that frequent this beautiful shore. After exploring the huge expanse of sand, a pit stop at The Boat House for some refreshment is a must.

Treaddur Bay

A well-facilitated beach surrounded by rockpools Treadurr Bay is a must-visit for a dog-friendly day on Anglesey. Its located just a couple of miles from Rhoscolyn and is renowned for being one of Anglesey’s best beaches. Whilst dogs are permitted all year long, there are some restrictions to the eastern side of the beach that are well signposted. This doesn’t stop your dog from making the most of the curved slopes of sand enveloping the crystal clear waters. At low tide, there is plenty of running space and at high tide, just a few paw prints in the sand and you’re in the calm water. Along the promenade, you’ll find plenty of amenities, for ultimate comfort we’d recommend taking advantage of the outdoor sofas at Oceans Edge restaurant or for something a little bit more beachy the dog-friendly Sea Shanty café. On hot days there is also sure to be an ice cream van, an ice cream for you and your dog is the perfect rest bite after a day in the sun.

Rhosneigr

Once you’ve finished paddleboarding with your four-legged friends or taking advantage of the numerous shops available in the village, there are plenty of places to catch a bite to eat. With their own resident pooch, Reggie to welcome you, Café Notos is the perfect beach café with a real nautical atmosphere. For an evening meal, Sandy Mount House takes on contemporary beach house style with an added luxurious feel in both their restaurant and bar area. Their well-thought-out and dog-friendly tapas menu mean your pampered pooch doesn’t feel like they’re missing out on all the delicious food.
