2017 has been an eventful year for us here at Silver Bay Holiday Village. Before we start looking forward to what 2018 has to bring, we thought we’d take a look back on the year. Take a look at our roundup video below and keep reading to find out more.

2017 – Parties galore!

We love a good party and 2017 was no exception…

We started off the summer season with our annual summer party in The Deck House Restaurant with something to keep all ages entertained. Mr Trix’s magic show entertained the children while our lodge owners caught up with friends, old and new, in the bar. To top it off, Silver Bay Summer Party favourites, Runaway Babies, played a medley of pop classics.

For October half term we welcomed owners back for our Halloween party and this year did not disappoint. The costumes were amazing this year; you can take a look at the whole collection of snaps over on our Facebook page. Here’s one to give you a taste:

December isn’t complete without a Christmas party. Owners, family and friends joined us for a night of games, dancing and a visit from Santa! You can find out more and take a look at our photos from the night over in our Christmas round up blog.

To top off a fabulous year, we hosted our annual New Year’s Eve party. The theme in 2017 was the 80s so we expected some big hairdos and over-the-top costumes – we were not disappointed! We were joined by Freddie Mercury and the cast of Top Gun, to name a few, for a night of dancing, food and drink. You can take a look at all the costumes here but here’s one of our favourites – we especially love the mohawks!

2017 Holiday activities

We like to make sure we’ve got a jam-packed schedule over the holidays for our owners and Busy Bayers, from wool club and toasting marshmallows to adult only swims and spinning classes.

Over the Easter holidays our Busy Bayers were spoilt for choice with arts and crafts, baking and an Easter egg hunt.

During the summer we launched our #SaveTheBees scheme and we now have two colonies of honey bees on site; keep an eye out later this year for our very own supply of honey!

The summer saw the return of Beach Mudder where our owners battled once more to take the crown. Well done again to the Psycho Unicorns! We also hosted our annual sandcastle competition and fishing competition.

New faces and places

We expanded our team this year to carry on providing a top notch service to our lodge owners. In February, we welcomed Katherine and Jacqueline to the Owner’s Services team and in May we welcomed talented pastry chef, Karan, to help elevate The Deck House menu to the next level.

We listened to your feedback and, in May, we launched the Chill Out Zone for teens. This space comes complete with a pool table, television, Wii, wifi and games.

Open days

We opened our gates throughout the year for visitors to explore our stunning lodges and facilities. This was also an opportunity to enjoy some champagne and nibbles. Keep an eye out for open day dates in 2018!

Awards

In July we were thrilled to be presented a Seaside Award from Keep Wales Tidy as part of the Wales Coast Awards in recognition of Silver Bay Beach’s tidy and well-tended coast and waters. Make sure to keep sharing your beautiful beach images on Instagram with the hashtag #SilverBayDays. We’ll feature the best ones on our Instagram page.

2017 was a busy year and we’ve only just scratched the surface of the events and activities that took place, you can read about these in more detail on our blog page.
