The Easter holidays may almost be over but we’re still feeling in that holiday mood. We want to thank everyone that visited Silver Bay during the holidays, it wouldn’t have been the same without you!

Easter Activities

From scuba diving and lifeguarding to football and pilates, and not forgetting a whole selection of arts and crafts activities for the Busy Bayers, there really was something for everyone to enjoy over the holidays.

This year we changed things up slightly for the Silver Bay Easter egg hunt. We had people of all ages searching every nook and cranny of the park for codes to solve the final puzzle; it was great to see friends and families working together to find the codes and earn their Easter eggs.

Easter egg hunt at Silver Bay

After working up an appetite at the Easter egg hunt we served up a carvery with a selection of different meats and all the trimmings. We received some great feedback on the carvery and will be doing it again soon, keep an eye on our Facebook page for any updates.

Easter Open Day

Halfway through the holidays we welcomed prospective lodge owners to our Easter Open Day to experience Silver Bay for themselves, including our luxury lodges, facilities and beach. We hope to open our gates again soon; make sure to keep an eye out for our next email invite.

SilverBay-Luxury-Holiday-Village-Anglesey_Summer-Party_144.jpg

2017 has been an eventful year for us here at Silver Bay Holiday Village. Before we start looking forward to what 2018 has to bring, we thought we’d take a look back on the year. Take a look at our roundup video below and keep reading to find out more.

2017 – Parties galore!

We love a good party and 2017 was no exception…

We started off the summer season with our annual summer party in The Deck House Restaurant with something to keep all ages entertained. Mr Trix’s magic show entertained the children while our lodge owners caught up with friends, old and new, in the bar. To top it off, Silver Bay Summer Party favourites, Runaway Babies, played a medley of pop classics.

For October half term we welcomed owners back for our Halloween party and this year did not disappoint. The costumes were amazing this year; you can take a look at the whole collection of snaps over on our Facebook page. Here’s one to give you a taste:

2017 round up halloween

December isn’t complete without a Christmas party. Owners, family and friends joined us for a night of games, dancing and a visit from Santa! You can find out more and take a look at our photos from the night over in our Christmas round up blog.

2017 round up christmas

To top off a fabulous year, we hosted our annual New Year’s Eve party. The theme in 2017 was the 80s so we expected some big hairdos and over-the-top costumes – we were not disappointed! We were joined by Freddie Mercury and the cast of Top Gun, to name a few, for a night of dancing, food and drink. You can take a look at all the costumes here but here’s one of our favourites – we especially love the mohawks!

2017 Holiday activities

We like to make sure we’ve got a jam-packed schedule over the holidays for our owners and Busy Bayers, from wool club and toasting marshmallows to adult only swims and spinning classes.

Over the Easter holidays our Busy Bayers were spoilt for choice with arts and crafts, baking and an Easter egg hunt.

Easter eggs in a basket

During the summer we launched our #SaveTheBees scheme and we now have two colonies of honey bees on site; keep an eye out later this year for our very own supply of honey!

Silver Bay Holiday Village honey bee colonies

The summer saw the return of Beach Mudder where our owners battled once more to take the crown. Well done again to the Psycho Unicorns! We also hosted our annual sandcastle competition and fishing competition.

New faces and places

We expanded our team this year to carry on providing a top notch service to our lodge owners. In February, we welcomed Katherine and Jacqueline to the Owner’s Services team and in May we welcomed talented pastry chef, Karan, to help elevate The Deck House menu to the next level.

We listened to your feedback and, in May, we launched the Chill Out Zone for teens. This space comes complete with a pool table, television, Wii, wifi and games.

Silver Bay Chill Out Zone

Open days

We opened our gates throughout the year for visitors to explore our stunning lodges and facilities. This was also an opportunity to enjoy some champagne and nibbles. Keep an eye out for open day dates in 2018!

Awards

In July we were thrilled to be presented a Seaside Award from Keep Wales Tidy as part of the Wales Coast Awards in recognition of Silver Bay Beach’s tidy and well-tended coast and waters. Make sure to keep sharing your beautiful beach images on Instagram with the hashtag #SilverBayDays. We’ll feature the best ones on our Instagram page.

2017 was a busy year and we’ve only just scratched the surface of the events and activities that took place, you can read about these in more detail on our blog page.

Stunning New Lodges For 2018

In 2018 we welcome a selection of new state-of-the-art lodges, all fully-furnished and ready to move into. Click here to request a brochure or request a callback and we’ll be in touch shortly.

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended our annual Christmas party on the 9th December. Owners, family and friends joined us for games and dancing plus a visit from Santa himself!

To remember the night we’ve put together a video of some of our favourite photos. We’d love to see your photos from the night as well; make sure to share them with us and use the hashtag #SilverBayXmas.

Can’t see your photo in the video? Make sure to check out our Facebook photo album and tag yourself, family and friends.

New Year’s Eve Party

After our successful Christmas Party it’s time to look forward to New Year’s Eve. Tickets are now sold out for this event but for those of you who are attending, dig out your shoulder pads and hairspray and get ready to go back to the 80s! We look forward to seeing you all there and make sure to share your photos with us on social media.

We also have some activities taking place over the New Year’s weekend for the Busy Bayers, such as arts and crafts, baking and hair braiding. You can find out more about specific activities and times in our Christmas newsletter blog.

Preparing your holiday home for winter

Please remember that the park is closed from 4th January to 12th February. The cold weather can sometimes cause issues so it’s important to make sure your lodge is prepared for the downtime. Here’s a couple of useful tips:

  • Protect all your outdoor furniture by storing it either inside your shed or inside your lodge; any heavy glass-top tables will need turning upside down and securing
  • Turn your boiler to FROST STAT and turn your water supply off at the stopcock, you can make sure the system has run dry by opening all the taps. Alternatively, you may request a DRAIN DOWN, this will drain your holiday water supply, including the heating system, and antifreeze will be put into the system to avoid pipes freezing and bursting

We’d also like to remind you that the boat park will be secured by bollards over the season closure so please ensure all valuables and electronic equipment is removed from your boat if possible.

Spa Beauty Offers

You’ve still got some time left to make the most of our December spa and beauty offers.

Our treatment of the month is the ELEMIS Couture Touch Face & Body treatment, reduced from £60 to £40. The 60 minute treatment consists of an ELEMIS hands-on TOUCH facial with a personalised Freestyle Deep Tissue Massage or Deeper than Deep Hot Stone Massage.

If you don’t have time for a full treatment why not pick up our product of the month – ELEMIS Skin Buff. This deep cleansing exfoliator re-energises dull and lifeless skin, leaving skin brighter and allowing it to breathe.

You can find out more about our spa treatments here.

Finally, we’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! For those not able to attend the New Year’s Eve party, we wish you a Happy New Year!

May-Half-Term-Holiday-Activity-Planner-Silver-Bay-Holiday-Village-Anglesey.-Blog.-1-1280x853.jpg

The sun has finally got his hat on, and with the May half-term quickly making its way towards us, we’ve officially launched the Silver Bay Spring Newsletter!

Jam-packed with fun and fantastic activities for all the family, there’s a tangible sense of excitement in the air as we prepare for the return of our lovely homeowners and their loved ones.

So, to make sure your calendar is chock-a-block with recreation and merry-making, take a look below.

Saving The Honey Bees

This year, we’re focusing on helping out a creature that’s been a part of the English lifestyle for as long as we can remember – the honey bee.

What many don’t realise is that this majestic being has a population that is vastly dwindling, so we’ve decided to make Silver Bay a Honey Bee Friendly Park!

Expert beekeeper, Johnathan Garratt, will be visiting over the summer months to hold important educational bee sessions with the children, and they’ll even have the chance to get up close and personal with the fuzzy, buzzy creatures. There will also be lots of bee-themed activities including candle creation with beeswax and a chance to help us build our very own Bee Hotel!

Best of all, we’ll be welcoming 20,000 new residents this summer in the form of our fuzzy friends! The protection and encouragement of the honey bees will be part of our prestigious David Bellamy award this year. Two hives are being installed closely followed by two bee colonies, so make sure you keep an eye out.

Don’t miss it… because It’ll BEE fantastic!

Welcoming Karan, our new pastry chef

We know how much our lodge owners love something sweet, and to help elevate our stunning Deck House menu to the next level, we’ve welcome talented pastry chef, Karan, to the team.

Originally from London, Karan loves baking and making sweets such as honeycomb and marshmallow, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table!

We’ve also got a brand new kid’s pudding menu, so keep your eyes peeled for it when you’re next dining with us.

The Chill Out Zone is here!

Silver Bay Chill Out Zone anglesey north wales

It’s very important to us to listen to our owners’ feedback and act on your wishes – which is why we’re proud to announce that we’ve launched a brand new Chill Out Zone for teens!

Complete with a pool table, television, Wii, wifi, games and comfy bean bags, it’s a space attached to the Deck House where they can kick back and relax – and one where you can rest assured that your children are close by and safe.

The Chill Out Zone also welcomes children under 12 up until 9 pm, as long as they’re supervised by someone in the Deck House.

Easter Fund Raising

You’re a generous lot, and we’re pleased to announce that the Easter raffle and quiz raised £205 pounds for Wales Air Ambulance! Thank you to everyone who donated and took part – and we’d like to give a shout out to Resting Beach Face, who were our quiz champions.

We’d also like to take a moment to highlight the fantastic charity work our team members have done too. Heidi, Will, Toni and Sue all completed a 5k race course and raised £273 for the Stroke Association. Congratulations, everyone!

The Spring Activity Schedule

If you’re a regular Silver Bay holiday-maker, you’ll know that we’re always doing our best to host lots of fun recreational activities for both children and adults. This May, there’s lots on including some brand new activities such as leaf mobiles, nail painting and tattoos, and even frisbee golf.

In the pool, we’ll be hosting a range of pastimes from adult swims to water polo and snorkelling, so make sure you pack your swimming gear!

The studio and gym have an action-packed schedule if you fancy working up a sweat. There’ll be the return of supervised activities and gym, as well as spinning, circuit training, pilates, and metafit.

Finally, our Busy Bayers activities are back with a bang! This May your little ones can experience arts and crafts, paper mache modelling, clay modelling, coasteering, woodland activities, salt dough making and much, much more. We’re even celebrating the return of the fabulous Beach Mudder on Sunday the 28th of May at 3 pm!

Silver-Bay-Holiday-Village-easter-summer-1280x960.jpeg

With warm beach weather approaching (we even had a mini heatwave over Easter!) and longer days just around the corner, summer events are on the way here at Silver Bay Holiday Village.

Our calendar is jam-packed full with events that you and your loved ones won’t want to miss. Plus, we’re also going to be digging deep for charity.

For a full run down, take a look below and pop all the important dates into your calendar!

18th June – Snowdon Sunrise Charity Walk

sunset summer holidays silver bay holiday village

We always take great pride in doing our bit for local charities, which is why we’ve decided to get the Silver Bay team together and embark on the Snowdon Sunrise Charity Walk 2017.

Taking place on the 18th of June, all funds raised will go towards the all-important Wales Air Ambulances. And best of all, you can join us too! Just make sure you book via Breese Adventures.

The Wales Air Ambulance team will be trekking along with us, and we’ll be walking between 1am and 9am under the guide of the Anglesey moon, led by headtorch lights! It’s a magical walk and an experience that you’ll never forget. We hope to see you there!

If you can’t participate, but would like to donate, simply visit the GoFundMe page here.

3rd and 4th June – Menai Raft Race

As we’re an island, there are always lots of exciting water-based activities going on. From boat voyages to adrenaline-pumping sailing, if you’re a watersports enthusiast, you’ll love Anglesey.

This year, we’ve decided to get involved with local water sports activities ourselves. For the first time ever will be taking part in the Menai Raft Race! On the 3rd and 4th of June our Grounds Maintenance Team will be heading out on the water and racing locals who have endeavoured to build their best rafts!

If you’re interested in Raft Silver Bay, like our page on Facebook where you’ll find a collection of upcoming images full of all the latest updates. And best of all, this event also raises a lot of money for local causes – which makes the Menai Raft Race one of the most important events in the Anglesey calendar.

Summer 2017 – Date TBC – Guinness World Record Attempt

summer silver bay guinness world record

This summer we’ll be hoping to make Silver Bay a record-breaking holiday park – and we need your help! From gathering as many superheroes as we can on the beach at one time, to building the world’s highest stack of coins on a holiday park, we want to know which event you’d like to do the most – and we need your votes on social media.

We’re also looking for even more special ideas, so if you have something that you’d like to put on the table, perhaps the most amount of people snorkelling in wigs at once, or maybe the largest amount of sandcastles shaped like Disney characters on one beach, let us know right away on Facebook.

We can’t wait to launch our Guinness World Record Attempt this summer. We’ll be posting more details soon about the attempt and when it will be taking place. So make sure you check back so that you don’t miss out!

Meet-The-Team-Charlotte-The-Spa-at-Silver-Bay-min.jpg

The Spa at Silver Bay is a hub for relaxation, socialising, and a place where both lodge-owners and locals can switch off from the outside world.

Beyond the staple of the stunning 15.5 metre indoor pool, past the soothing bubbles of the warming jacuzzi and the comforting haze of the sauna and steam room, are the treatment rooms.

Delivered by our expert therapists, treatments include everything from manicures to Aromatherapy experiences. In fact, there’s something suited to every type of relaxation devotee, making it the perfect place to have some well-deserved ‘me’ time.

We have a highly-skilled team in our Spa, and Charlotte is our Senior Beauty Therapist (what she doesn’t know about Spa treatments isn’t worth knowing!) Below we’ve got an exclusive interview with her that you won’t want to miss.

Discussing everything from her top spa recommendations to an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming product of the month, Charlotte has provided us with an exciting insight into the Silver Bay Spa life.

Meet The Team - Charlotte - The Spa at Silver Bay

What is your favourite treatment that you offer at The Spa at Silver Bay?

“My favourite treatment of all time is definitely the Pro – Collagen Quartz Lift Facial, I feel amazing after it and so relaxed as you get a gorgeous hand and arm massage with it as well as a lovely scalp massage, plus my skin feels re-energised and a lot firmer.”

What treatment would you recommend for someone visiting The Spa for the first time?

“It all depends on what outcome the client would like to achieve after visiting The Spa and what kind of skin type they have. So, it would either be a full body massage or one of our ELEMIS facials.”

What made you want to become a Spa Practitioner?

“I enjoy making my clients happy and seeing results after each treatment, it’s very rewarding. And I just love my job in general.”

When is the best time to visit The Spa at Silver Bay?

“The best time to visit The Spa is in the summer when you can enjoy our beautiful views of Snowdonia while taking a dip in our swimming pool or whilst you’re in the gym or just having a coffee.”

How long do your treatments last? And what are the main benefits?

“Most of our treatments are an hour long and again it all depends on what treatment the client has had so it can be anything from relieving tension and those painful knots after a massage or it can be to achieve a youthful, less problematic looking skin.”

Meet The Team - Charlotte - The Spa at Silver Bay

Do you have any sneak-peak looks at upcoming products of the month?

“So one of our *PRODUCTS OF THE MONTH* that is coming up is Pro-Definition Eye And Lip Contour Cream or as we like to call it “Botox in a bottle”. we will have an excellent offer on this so keep your eyes on our Facebook page.”

How do you find working with ELEMIS and what are the benefits of using their products?

“I love working with ELEMIS and over my 11-years of been in the industry, ELEMIS has to be the best product I have worked with as it literally does what it says, also it is a UK brand which I love even more.

And the benefits of using ELEMIS is a smoother, younger, radiant looking skin. Most of the ELEMIS products are clinically proven to give you these results and also have the ELEMIS promise which is no parabens, no sodium Laureth sulphate – SLS or SLES, no DEA, no mineral oil, no artificial colours.”

If you could provide our readers with one tip when visiting The Spa, what would it be?

“Just sit back, relax and enjoy the views.”

What does 2017 hold for The Spa at Silver Bay? Are there any new developments in the pipeline to get excited about?

“We are going on more training with ELEMIS so we will be offering a lot more body treatments which will be launching around Easter time, it’s a very exciting time for us at The Spa.”

New-Years-Eve-Blog-header-image-2016-and-2017-1280x960.jpeg

On New Year’s Eve, The Deck House was transformed into a glamorous speakeasy, brimming with alluring 1920s chic ready to bring in the new year!

It was a lively night full of excitement and celebration. The atmosphere was electric – as was the fancy dress effort from every single lodge-owner here at Silver Bay Holiday Village. A stand-out clown kicked off the party and awed and inspired children and adults alike with his magic. He even had a live, fluffy rabbit with him (much to the delight of our party goers)!

After that, dinner was served and featured a range of delectable treats prepared by our amazing chefs, and once stomachs were full, The Runaway Babies made their much-anticipated return and took to The Deck House stage.

We danced away the last evening of 2016 danced and welcomed in the new year with warmth and cheer. This set the tone for what will be a wonderful year here at Silver Bay Holiday Village.

It was a delight to host such a great night had by all; we can’t wait to do it again with our annual summer party later on this year!

Below you’ll find a video from the New Year’s Eve party. Why not see if you and your loved ones made it below? There were some fantastic costumes on the night.
