Though we’re sad to see the end of summer and the wonderful weather it brings to Anglesey, we have certainly made the most of the holiday season here at Silver Bay!

We thoroughly enjoyed the company of all of our holiday homeowners, along with friends and family attending our various events throughout the summer period. We hope you all enjoyed your time here as much as we did, so here are some of the highlights we couldn’t resist sharing with you.

There are clearly quite a few sport fanatics among our ranks, judging from the brilliant turnout at our session of rounders on the beach. Everybody got involved, some fantastic rounders were scored, and thankfully the weather stayed clear and sunny all evening long.

Ah, the weather. Residents definitely got into the summer spirit by taking advantage of sunshine and sea whenever possible. Most sunny afternoons you could meander down to Silver Bay’s beach and see a good few of the children having a fabulous time in the ocean, and we even had a few occasions where everyone gathered on the beach with their coal BBQs.

There was some lovely food going round, the kids got to play out and parents had a chance for a tipple or two. Pimms, anyone?

Finally, towards the end of the summer, we held a tennis tournament for Silver Bay residents and also our team members. The kids had great fun battling each other in their morning tournament, with the parents getting their trainers on to enter the afternoon adults tournament and an evening presentation in the Bistro to wrap things up.

Though summer is coming to an end, we’re certain you have all managed to create some amazing memories with your family, and we hope Silver Bay has provided the perfect setting for your summer activities. We’re already looking forward to the antics of the next seasonal holidays, Halloween and Bonfire night. Christmas suddenly doesn’t seem too far away!

Make sure you keep up to date with our events here at Silver Bay with our blog, or keep in touch on Twitter and Facebook so you don’t miss out!

We encourage our holiday homeowners to take advantage of our boat park and launching facilities, and as a result we know we have a good few maritime enthusiasts among us! We also know how exciting exploring the coastlines of Anglesey can be, so for those who don’t have a boat to take advantage of, or even current owners looking for a new experience, we have put together a guide to the boat trips and tours around our island ready for you and your family to enjoy.

Anglesey Boat Trips

With plenty of options for trips along the coastline and Menai strait, including to charter your own private skippered speedboat, or even drive yourself, Anglesey Boat Trips has a very wide variety of experiences for you to choose from. With 4 locations you can pick which area of the coastline you fancy exploring; you can also decide whether you want to go for a slow boat trip and take in the view, or thrill seekers can opt for a fast breathtaking experience.

Seacoast Safaris

If you and your family are more partial to cruising leisurely on the water, the cruises provided from Seacoast Safaris will be just right for you.

With plenty of cruises lasting for different lengths of time, exploring around different areas of the island and the choice to opt for a live commentary, we can’t think of a better way to spend your day. There are plenty of opportunities to observe the wildlife, from marine mammals to the many different species of bird including herons, oystercatchers and more. However, in case you want to try something a bit different, Seacoast Safaris also runs adventure RIB tours for an exhilarating ride, or private charters to let you discover the coast in your own time.

RibRide Bear Grylls RIB adventures

For those of you who are more in the mood for adventure, RibRide have introduced their Bear Grylls Adventure Boat Tours. Working in partnership with Bear to create this experience, RibRide utilises a RIB that has been tested in extreme arctic environments to ensure it is perfect for your adventure ride.

The ride involves taking you to see the “Skerries”, a unique group of rocky islands, or you can also travel to Gogarth to see the cliffs and caves. You are guaranteed some spectacular sea birds regardless of which boat tour you choose, and expert skippers help make every trip an enjoyable event with their fascinating stories and facts. You could also choose to take a ribride to see the famous puffins of Puffin Island, with a possibility of a visit from some seals, or one of their other exciting ribrides with different itineraries.

Starida Sea Services fishing trips

People who would fancy getting something to eat while enjoying their day out on the water may be tempted by the Anglesey Sea Fishing Trips offered by Starida Sea Services. Beginners are welcome to join in, with rod hire available, and free hot tea and coffee in case the weather begins to get a bit chilly. With the bait provided, you can get stuck in with the expert advice from skippers to help you get the most out of your day. If you catch something, you can cook it on board or take it home for dinner. Starida Sea Services also runs Menai Strait and Puffin Island cruises providing a complete guided tour with full commentary.
