The Silver Bay Summer Roundup 2017
What an incredible summer it’s been. From our annual fishing competition to our owner’s summer party, the fun hasn’t stopped!
Sadly, we’re waving goodbye to the warmer months now, but before we do we thought we’d revisit the very best of the best of summer 2017.
Keep an eye out – you might even make an appearance!
The Owner’s Summer Party
Right at the beginning of summer we hosted our annual owner’s party in The Deck House! The Runaway Babies band made a magnificent return, and everyone danced the night away with friends and family in abundance.
A taste bud-tingling buffet was put on by the magnificent chefs, and all of the staff involved we’re on top form, ensuring a brilliant night was had by all.
Mr Trix the clown even made an appearance, much to the delight of the young members of the Silver Bay family!
Busy Bayers
It was another amazing summer for our busy bayers activities. From snorkelling to wild survivors, new friends were made and the fun times were in full swing.
A centre point of our Busy Bayers activities this year was, of course, our new addition to the holiday village – the Silver Bay bees! Activities such as building our bee hotel and Bee Creative, where we designed some beautiful bee collages, kept everyone thoroughly entertained.
Our Wild Survivor attendees also earned a Silver Wild Challenge award from the RSPB for all the amazing work they’ve done to help nature. We’re incredibly proud of everyone involved.
Fitness & Spa
We’ve also been making sure that everyone keeps fit over the summer! Our outdoor bums and tums was a popular class, and we’ve also been offering private, 1-2-1 swimming lessons. It has been a real joy seeing children learn to swim in our pool alongside our excellent instructors.
Alongside promoting fitness this summer, we’ve also been pushing self-care. The Spa at Silver Bay has launched a brand-new brochure full of fantastic treatments that our lodge owners and locals have been making the most of. From shellac nails to facials, take a look here for the brochure and pick your perfect treatment! Make sure you also keep an eye out for our September offers which are as follows:

The Deck House Entertainment
It has been an incredible summer of fun in the Deck House this year! We’ve had everything from fashion shows to live musicians, and wine tasting evenings.
Highlights include singer and guitarist Kiana, live music with Mojo, an evening of fashion, fizz and shopping with Mrs Jones, and our wine taste evening featuring our preferred wine merchant John Fearon Wines. There really has never been a dull moment this summer!
Beach Activities
When you’ve got a picturesque beach like we have, it’d be foolish not to host a range of summer activities along the coast – which is why Silver Bay Beach is always a staple of our summer schedule.
This year saw the return of Beach Mudder, and our owners battled once more to take the crown – congratulations to our winners the uniquely named Psycho Unicorns. We also hosted our annual sandcastle competition which saw everything from bee parties to Pierce’s truck, winners included The Goddards, Becky & Grace, Erica Keasberry and Theo! And 2017 also saw our fishing competition return. Split into junior and adult categories, our winners were Ed Wilson, Rowen Dier, Holly McLean Watts and Noah Rockliffe. Kevin McLean also put on an excellent BBQ!
This summer also saw us become the proud owners of a Seaside Award from Keep Wales Tidy for our immaculate coast. You can read more about that over here.
Summer 2017
We’re sad to say goodbye to summer, but also ready for a magnificent end to 2017! Our Halloween Party will be making a comeback, as will our Christmas and NYE celebrations. Make sure you keep an eye on our Facebook account for our brand new autumn Deck House menu, as well as our half-term planner where we’ll be bringing back loads of exciting activities to keep the run times rolling!
