Over the next couple of months we are welcoming a brand new football pitch together with a multi use games area (MUGA) to provide all of our owners the perfect space to have fun and play a multitude of sports.

The new football pitch (turf being laid as we speak) will be situated on the field behind the spa and will be accessed by a new path. Whether it’s a large group or just a couple of friends having a kickabout, the new pitch will offer a great space for the whole family to enjoy. The backdrop of the Llyn Peninsula will make this a stunning area to enjoy a little exercise and competition!

The tennis court is also currently being transformed into a MUGA, meaning the court will be multifunctional – great to play tennis as well as a variety of other sports including football, netball and basketball.

We’ll make sure to keep you updated on the progress and will follow up with photos of the new pitch and MUGA when they are ready. Keep an eye out on our blog, as well as our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for any updates.

The days may be getting longer, the weather may be getting colder, but Silver Bay is becoming more exciting as the seasons change. With a whole host of activities to keep you and your family entertained this half term in Anglesey, we wave goodbye to a fantastic, eventful summer and welcome this time of the year with arms wide open.

With Halloween fast approaching, the kids breaking up for half term, and the season fully kicking in with a vibrant change of colour around Silver Bay – take a look at what we have on offer for you this half-term.

Busy Bayers

Silver Bay wouldn’t be the same without our Busy Bayers, which is why we’ve dedicated engaging & educational sessions to keep them entertained! To get them in the true spirit of harvest, our friendly team will be running arts and crafts, seed bomb making, halloween decorations and face painting to name a few. Your Busy Bayers will have jam-packed days of fun while making new friends along the way!

Studio & Gym

Silver Bay is the perfect place to let your hair down and relax, so it’s only natural that you might indulge a little too much! Don’t worry, our gym & studio will help you burn off all those calories from last night’s Beef Burger at the Deck House. Planned activities include: spinning, supervised gym sessions, pilates and legs, bums and tums. The Spa at Silver Bay is open until 19:30 everyday, except on Saturdays and Sundays when it closes at 18:00.

Our spa offers this month include an ELEMIS Freestyle Deep Tissue massage, a hot mineral body boost, and a pro-collagen age defying treatment to name a few. You can find more offers on our website!

Swimming Pool

Our indoor pool is the perfect space for families to relax and learn new aquatic techniques this half term in Anglesey. We have a range of activities that cater to all ages from the young adventurer to the laid-back parent. Such activities include indoor kayaking and scuba diving, perfect for children to learn lifelong skills and craft memories they’ll never forget. If you’re not a keen explorer, however, and would rather kick back and relax in and around the pool, then join us for adult swimming for the first hour of the day for a quick dip.

Halloween Party

Hosted at the Deck House, our annual Halloween Party will be commencing on Saturday 28th October with a ghoulishly good line up in store. For only £8.50 (children £6.50, Under 3’s free) there will be face painting and spooky art for your young werewolves and witches to enjoy!

We also want to see your best carved pumpkin on the night, with last year’s competition going down a storm. And when all the revelries have finished, get on your dancing shoes and show the world how well you know Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance!

Want to join in with the fun this half term in Anglesey? Take a look here at our eBrochure, or give us a call on 01407 860 860 to speak to our friendly team.

Help Save The Bees! Silver Bay Honey Bees

The Silver Bay Summer Roundup 2017

May-Half-Term-Holiday-Activity-Planner-Silver-Bay-Holiday-Village-Anglesey.-Blog.-1-1280x853.jpg

The sun has finally got his hat on, and with the May half-term quickly making its way towards us, we’ve officially launched the Silver Bay Spring Newsletter!

Jam-packed with fun and fantastic activities for all the family, there’s a tangible sense of excitement in the air as we prepare for the return of our lovely homeowners and their loved ones.

So, to make sure your calendar is chock-a-block with recreation and merry-making, take a look below.

Saving The Honey Bees

This year, we’re focusing on helping out a creature that’s been a part of the English lifestyle for as long as we can remember – the honey bee.

What many don’t realise is that this majestic being has a population that is vastly dwindling, so we’ve decided to make Silver Bay a Honey Bee Friendly Park!

Expert beekeeper, Johnathan Garratt, will be visiting over the summer months to hold important educational bee sessions with the children, and they’ll even have the chance to get up close and personal with the fuzzy, buzzy creatures. There will also be lots of bee-themed activities including candle creation with beeswax and a chance to help us build our very own Bee Hotel!

Best of all, we’ll be welcoming 20,000 new residents this summer in the form of our fuzzy friends! The protection and encouragement of the honey bees will be part of our prestigious David Bellamy award this year. Two hives are being installed closely followed by two bee colonies, so make sure you keep an eye out.

Don’t miss it… because It’ll BEE fantastic!

Welcoming Karan, our new pastry chef

We know how much our lodge owners love something sweet, and to help elevate our stunning Deck House menu to the next level, we’ve welcome talented pastry chef, Karan, to the team.

Originally from London, Karan loves baking and making sweets such as honeycomb and marshmallow, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table!

We’ve also got a brand new kid’s pudding menu, so keep your eyes peeled for it when you’re next dining with us.

The Chill Out Zone is here!

Silver Bay Chill Out Zone anglesey north wales

It’s very important to us to listen to our owners’ feedback and act on your wishes – which is why we’re proud to announce that we’ve launched a brand new Chill Out Zone for teens!

Complete with a pool table, television, Wii, wifi, games and comfy bean bags, it’s a space attached to the Deck House where they can kick back and relax – and one where you can rest assured that your children are close by and safe.

The Chill Out Zone also welcomes children under 12 up until 9 pm, as long as they’re supervised by someone in the Deck House.

Easter Fund Raising

You’re a generous lot, and we’re pleased to announce that the Easter raffle and quiz raised £205 pounds for Wales Air Ambulance! Thank you to everyone who donated and took part – and we’d like to give a shout out to Resting Beach Face, who were our quiz champions.

We’d also like to take a moment to highlight the fantastic charity work our team members have done too. Heidi, Will, Toni and Sue all completed a 5k race course and raised £273 for the Stroke Association. Congratulations, everyone!

The Spring Activity Schedule

If you’re a regular Silver Bay holiday-maker, you’ll know that we’re always doing our best to host lots of fun recreational activities for both children and adults. This May, there’s lots on including some brand new activities such as leaf mobiles, nail painting and tattoos, and even frisbee golf.

In the pool, we’ll be hosting a range of pastimes from adult swims to water polo and snorkelling, so make sure you pack your swimming gear!

The studio and gym have an action-packed schedule if you fancy working up a sweat. There’ll be the return of supervised activities and gym, as well as spinning, circuit training, pilates, and metafit.

Finally, our Busy Bayers activities are back with a bang! This May your little ones can experience arts and crafts, paper mache modelling, clay modelling, coasteering, woodland activities, salt dough making and much, much more. We’re even celebrating the return of the fabulous Beach Mudder on Sunday the 28th of May at 3 pm!

The Spa at Silver Bay is a hub for relaxation, socialising, and a place where both lodge-owners and locals can switch off from the outside world.

Beyond the staple of the stunning 15.5 metre indoor pool, past the soothing bubbles of the warming jacuzzi and the comforting haze of the sauna and steam room, are the treatment rooms.

Delivered by our expert therapists, treatments include everything from manicures to Aromatherapy experiences. In fact, there’s something suited to every type of relaxation devotee, making it the perfect place to have some well-deserved ‘me’ time.

We have a highly-skilled team in our Spa, and Charlotte is our Senior Beauty Therapist (what she doesn’t know about Spa treatments isn’t worth knowing!) Below we’ve got an exclusive interview with her that you won’t want to miss.

Discussing everything from her top spa recommendations to an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming product of the month, Charlotte has provided us with an exciting insight into the Silver Bay Spa life.

Meet The Team - Charlotte - The Spa at Silver Bay

What is your favourite treatment that you offer at The Spa at Silver Bay?

“My favourite treatment of all time is definitely the Pro – Collagen Quartz Lift Facial, I feel amazing after it and so relaxed as you get a gorgeous hand and arm massage with it as well as a lovely scalp massage, plus my skin feels re-energised and a lot firmer.”

What treatment would you recommend for someone visiting The Spa for the first time?

“It all depends on what outcome the client would like to achieve after visiting The Spa and what kind of skin type they have. So, it would either be a full body massage or one of our ELEMIS facials.”

What made you want to become a Spa Practitioner?

“I enjoy making my clients happy and seeing results after each treatment, it’s very rewarding. And I just love my job in general.”

When is the best time to visit The Spa at Silver Bay?

“The best time to visit The Spa is in the summer when you can enjoy our beautiful views of Snowdonia while taking a dip in our swimming pool or whilst you’re in the gym or just having a coffee.”

How long do your treatments last? And what are the main benefits?

“Most of our treatments are an hour long and again it all depends on what treatment the client has had so it can be anything from relieving tension and those painful knots after a massage or it can be to achieve a youthful, less problematic looking skin.”

Meet The Team - Charlotte - The Spa at Silver Bay

Do you have any sneak-peak looks at upcoming products of the month?

“So one of our *PRODUCTS OF THE MONTH* that is coming up is Pro-Definition Eye And Lip Contour Cream or as we like to call it “Botox in a bottle”. we will have an excellent offer on this so keep your eyes on our Facebook page.”

How do you find working with ELEMIS and what are the benefits of using their products?

“I love working with ELEMIS and over my 11-years of been in the industry, ELEMIS has to be the best product I have worked with as it literally does what it says, also it is a UK brand which I love even more.

And the benefits of using ELEMIS is a smoother, younger, radiant looking skin. Most of the ELEMIS products are clinically proven to give you these results and also have the ELEMIS promise which is no parabens, no sodium Laureth sulphate – SLS or SLES, no DEA, no mineral oil, no artificial colours.”

If you could provide our readers with one tip when visiting The Spa, what would it be?

“Just sit back, relax and enjoy the views.”

What does 2017 hold for The Spa at Silver Bay? Are there any new developments in the pipeline to get excited about?

“We are going on more training with ELEMIS so we will be offering a lot more body treatments which will be launching around Easter time, it’s a very exciting time for us at The Spa.”

The-Top-5-Tours-Of-Anglesey-min.jpg

Anglesey is a beautiful island to tour. From exploring our Celtic Druid roots to the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia, there’s something for every type of traveller.

If you’d like to take a trip during your next visit then why not browse our tour ideas below? We’ve gathered five of the best, so whether you’re looking for a walking tour or an all-out adventure – there’ll be something on the list for you!

  1. Celtic Druids

Run by private tour provider Celticos, the Celtic Druids tour of Anglesey is a delight for explorers. Beginning by the Menai Straits coastline, which itself has many interesting Celtic points, the tour will take you on a whirlwind of a journey over to the Northern shore and then back around again – and you’ll be spoilt for choice of things to look at along the way!

Anglesey is known as The Mother of Wales, and the island is actually one of the last places that the Celts managed to retain ownership of before the Romans occupied Wales.

Druidism is the religion of the Celts and the Celtic history of Anglesey is rife – which means you’ll learn plenty on this tour! To enquire about the activity during your stay on Anglesey, visit the website here. There is an enquiry form to fill in to find out more about pricing. We also have a juicy blog right here about Anglesey’s Druid past if you’re interested in this time period on our island.

  1. Prehistoric Anglesey

Not only are there Celtic remains on Anglesey, but there are also many prehistoric delights to uncover on the island too.

Record of homo sapiens first establishing themselves on Anglesey date back to 7000 BC, and behind them they have left plenty of relics and ruins for us to explore. There are Neolithic, which is the age when writing and the beginning of urban civilisation, burial chambers and also Romano-British Hut Groups according to the Megalithic Anglesey tour website, and the tour they provide of this era lasts 1 day, costing £20 per person.

To find out more take a look at their official website. They can accommodate up to 14 people, so whether you have a big group or a small group, it’s the perfect trip into the past that you’ll never forget.

  1. Anglesey Adventures

If you’re an adventurer at heart and live for the rush of adrenaline, you won’t go wrong with the Anglesey Adventures tours.

These tours aren’t your average walking tours, oh no! Anglesey Adventures feature an array of blood-pumping activities including coasteering, rock climbing, mountaineering, gorge scrambling, kayaking and abseiling – you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Located in Holyhead, the tour provider/adventure planner will ensure you and your fellow adventurers have a memorable exploration of our beautiful coastline. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert at any of the activities, you’ll be able to find a tour suitable for you over on the Anglesey Adventures website.

These tours are open to everyone aged 8 years upwards, and it’s always best to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Another great thing about these providers is that you’ll also be able to swap to another activity, or rebook, if the weather isn’t suitable on the day.

  1. Snowdonia Adventures

If you’ve been to Anglesey before then you’ve probably noticed the magnificent Snowdonia mountains that rest right on our doorstep – and you’d be sorely missing out if you didn’t choose to explore them!

With Snowdonia Adventures you can hike, scramble, climb and learn about this magnificent area of natural beauty close to Anglesey. y Tours are available in both summer and winter, and the operator has been in action since 2000, meaning 18 experienced years of learning to navigate the mountains and perfecting their tour style.

There are more adventurous tours available including canoeing, canyoning, coasteering and gorse scrambling if you’re looking for even more excitement during your day trip, and the sessions are open to those with lots of experience or none at all.

Please note that there are cancellation costs should you be unable to make your trip.

  1. Naturebites Private Tour

Anglesey is home to some wonderful wildlife. From dolphins to puffins to badgers – it’s a fantastic place to visit if you’re seeking to learn about local wildlife on your visit.

Naturebites Private Tours focus on finding the most interesting on Anglesey – and they also take great pride in supporting wildlife conservations on the island, as do we at Silver Bay.

Every tour has a specialist subject, and with Naturebites, birdlife is their key expertise. So if you’re a bird fan looking for an introduction to our two-legged friends on Anglesey, this tour provider is  ideal for you. You can also see some magnificent plants and mammals along the way, too.

New-Years-Eve-Blog-header-image-2016-and-2017-1280x960.jpeg

On the 31st of December, The Deck House was transformed into a glamorous speakeasy, brimming with alluring 1920s chic ready to bring in the new year!

It was a lively night full of excitement and celebration, the atmosphere was electric – as was the fancy dress effort from every single lodge-owner here at Silver Bay Holiday Village. The party was kicked off by a stand-out clown who awed and inspired children and adults alike with his magic – he even had a live, fluffy rabbit with him (much to the delight of our party goers)!

After that, dinner was served and featured a range of delectable treats prepared by our amazing chefs, and once stomachs were full, The Runaway Babies made their much-anticipated return and took to The Deck House stage.

The last evening of 2016 was danced away and the new year was welcomed in with warmth and cheer – setting the tone for what will be a wonderful year here at Silver Bay Holiday Village.

It was a delight to host such a great night had by all, and we can’t wait to do it again with our annual summer party later on this year!

Below you’ll find a video of the evening’s antics. Why not see if you and your loved ones made it below? There were some fantastic costumes on the night that deserve to be appreciated time and time again.

If you’d like to find out more about life at Silver Bay Holiday Village and how you could become the owner of your very own haven on Anglesey, call Jamie Hughes, General Manager, today on 01407 860 860. You can also view our free eBrochure here.
