Located on a small development of only two lodges enjoying panoramic views over Silver Bay and the Llyn Peninsula beyond, we’d like to introduce you to The Lookout holiday lodge. Created to make the most of  the awe-inspiring coastal views, and providing a sanctuary that’s every bit as unique as you are, The Lookout holiday lodge is a place where you can truly relax and be yourself.

The stunning architectural exterior of The Lookout lodge captures the eye outside, but it’s what’s inside this beautiful holiday home that’s really exciting. Modern and contemporary, yet still retaining an element of retro throughout, the design of this property is perfect for families of all ages.

After a long day at the beach, take it easy in the elevated lounge area or enjoy the evening sunshine on the adjoining balcony. The Lookout also features a fully fitted kitchen with all the mod cons and appliances, perfect for feeding the family or entertaining friends.

The Lookout holiday lodge living room

The master bedroom comes complete with a walk-in wardrobe and wet room with a large double walk-in shower. And just across the hall, leading to the second bedroom, you’ll find four unique cabin beds with quirky naval porthole style windows.

The Lookout is not one to miss but don’t just take our word for it, you can view the lodge for yourself on our next open day, taking place 12-4pm on Sunday 3rd June. This will give you the opportunity to explore the park, the lodges and the facilities Silver Bay has to offer, plus there’ll be some fizz and nibbles for you to enjoy!

mands-christmas-decorations.jpg

The first weekend of December has been and gone and that can only mean one thing – it’s time to put your Christmas decorations up! We’ve been keeping an eye on the latest decoration trends this year to help make your holiday lodge look extra special over the festive period. Here are some of the top trends to help you on your way:

Scandinavian

From Scandi-noir TV series gracing our screens to Hygge taking the country by storm last Christmas, Scandinavian culture has well and truly made its way into our lives.

The trend is very much about “less is more” with a focus on the colour white, even down to the colour of your Christmas lights (keep to white bulbs rather than mixing them with warm, yellow bulbs). To keep to the minimal aesthetic, try to stick to only one or two colours throughout the house.

The tradition of kissing under the mistletoe comes from Norse mythology so it makes sense to complete the theme with a sprig hanging above the door. Why not tie it together with a ribbon in your chosen colour scheme? Stockings hung over the fireplace is also a Christmas essential; maybe try some white, knitted ones in-keeping with that cosy, Scandi feeling.

Quirky

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the quirky trend where you can mix as many themes and colours as you want, sometimes the more the better. If you do want to stick to a theme, how about going tropical? Palm tree prints aren’t just confined to summer and pineapple-shaped glassware and baubles are everywhere this year, too.

Not keen on the tropical theme? Why not go for a cactus, unicorn or even a llama? The rule of the quirky trend is that there are no rules, but if you want a bit of direction think colourful decorations in block colours, clashing patterns, neon brights, quirky accessories and pops of metallic.

Country

Countryside styling takes the classic festive look and gives it a farmhouse spin. It’s all about using raw and rustic materials paired with classic shapes and designs. Up-cycled pieces also play a big part and give that homely, tactile feeling.

When picking your decorations think raw wood, textured finishes, industrial metals, hessian fabric, linens and vintage tableware.

Festive flowers

Bringing the outdoors indoors is more prevalent than ever, with many people filling their houses with indoor plants and buying fresh flowers, so it’s no surprise that this has influenced Christmas decorations as well. You may have noticed most shops now sell the classic Poinsettia, known as the “Christmas flower” in North America.

This festive season no flower arrangement would be complete without some sparkle and glitter and many florists are taking a modern approach by combining crisp, white flowers with different metals. This year’s bouquets are also bursting with colour, featuring festive reds and greens.

There’s many ways you can bring the outdoors inside this Christmas; how about entwining a floral garland around your staircase or framing a mirror? Or why not create a spectacular floral centrepiece for the table?

Metallics

This year, metallics featured heavily in both interior design and fashion and there’s no exception when it comes to Christmas decorations.

Copper, rose gold and bronze will be bigger than ever this festive period and this isn’t restricted to just the decorations. Hosting and entertaining is a big part of Christmas so your tableware is the perfect place to add a touch of glamour.

Whether you’re going for the minimal Scandi look or the over-the-top quirky trend when decorating your holiday lodge, we’d love to see your photos. Make sure to share your photos with us on Facebook and Instagram and tag Silver Bay with the hashtag #SilverBayXmas

More and more people are choosing to holiday in the UK instead of jetting off to a foreign destination than ever before.

Ahead of the August bank holiday, it was reported that 5.1 million Britons were going on holiday and that 4.6 million of them were planning a staycation – meaning now could really be the perfect time to become a holiday home owner in the UK.

Need a little more convincing? We’ve listed some of the amazing benefits of owning a home on the British shores below.

1. Lifestyle Choice

If you’d like access to a luxury holiday lifestyle without needing to leave the country, then a holiday home in the UK is the perfect choice.

Relaxing, luxurious and a home away from home, buying property in the UK will ensure you have a lifestyle choice infused with all three of those things.

Why not take a look at our properties right here to see what we mean?

2. The Value of the Pound

It has been no secret since Brexit that the value of the pound has dropped. At the current rate, you can expect to get $1.34 dollars for every £1 and €1.18 euros.

So how do you prevent forking out more money for your holidays than ever before? Well, that would be by staying in the UK.

Having a holiday home in Britain means you don’t have to worry about exchange rates because you know how much it’s going to cost already – and you’ll also know the typical prices of your holiday home’s location.

Is it time you put unpredictable currency rates to bed with a UK holiday home?

3. Close to Home

Ever had a weekend where you wish you could escape? Perhaps work that week has been particularly draining, or maybe you’d like to treat your loved ones to a holiday?

With a UK holiday home you have that freedom.

Holidays at the drop of a hat are an excellent privilege to Silver Bay owners, and it’s one of the main reasons so many choose to buy one of our properties.

Simply hop into your car and head to Anglesey for a wonderful weekend – it really is that easy to get away without leaving the country.

4. Guaranteed Kids Entertainment

One of the hardest part of any holiday for a family is ensuring the kids have access to activities that will keep them occupied.

But owning a holiday home will allow you to cherry pick a fantastic destination where you know you can always rely on someone looking out for your little ones.

Here at Silver Bay, we host an array of exciting activities that your kids will love to be involved with. From baking through to junk modeling, kids discos and much more – there’s something for everyone hosted throughout the school holidays!

5. A place for family and friends to visit

Although subletting is not permitted at Silver Bay, your family and friends will be able to stay at your property.

All you need to do is contact reception and make them aware that someone else will be visiting your holiday home, and from there all your family and friends will have a fantastic holiday home escape in the UK, too.

We’re certain you’ll become more popular than ever with a stunning Silver Bay home under your belt!

6. Nostalgia

When you think back to holidays as a child, what do you see? Holidays in Blackpool, indulging in ice cream on Britain’s beaches? We knew back then that we didn’t need to leave the country to have a holiday, and this still stands true today.

How special would it be to leave your children with the same memories on Silver Bay beach? It’s time to nurture memories that will last a lifetime and create something magical with a UK holiday property.

7. Take your pets on holiday, too!

Who says holidays are just for humans? At Silver Bay we accommodate pets too – just make sure you let us know before you arrive!

Bringing your pets with you means you don’t have to fork out costs for kennels and sitters, and we know that pets are also a key part of any family unit – so why not keep ALL of your loved ones together on your next break and take everyone in your family away?

When the summer months arrive, we all love to head outdoors and make the most of the wonderful weather – and here at Silver Bay, we’re no different.

We love being outdoors, and when the weather is a little warmer it can be the perfect excuse to enjoy an extra special summer party.

But if you’re struggling to know where to start with your party, don’t fear! We’ve got some fantastic tips below that you’re sure to love.

1. Pick The Right Day and Time

We all know the weather in the UK can be unpredictable, so it’s always best to try and be somewhat flexible with your party date.

If you do that, then you’ll be able to get a better idea of what the weather will be like on your party day and increase your chances of sunshine!

However, if you want to invite lots of people then you may not have that privilege. But one key thing to remember is that a party in August may be more likely to turn out better than one in June – so do your weather research!

2. Prepare For Anything

Sometimes whether you plan your party months in advance or weeks, the weather can still turn on you and the heavens can open regardless. So you need to be prepared!

Consider getting a gazebo set up so that you can still enjoy being outdoors even if the rain is pouring. Also consider buying some blankets for people to throw over themselves if they get little chilly.

It’s these extra little touches that will make your party one to remember.

3. Encourage Others To Help

People may shy away from parties thinking about things such as what it might actually cost, but if you encourage people to also bring something with them the cost doesn’t have to become monumental.

For example, asking people to bring certain dishes and puds can save you a heck of a lot of time and money! And let’s not forget the drinks either – make sure you ask people to bring their own beer.

Your kitchen and fridge will be full in no time.

4. Plan something for the kids

Everyone loves a party, but they like to get up to different things. Adults like to relax and chat, whereas your kids may have other ideas.

If you plan a few activities to keep them entertained then you don’t need to worry about them growing bored and, in turn, interrupting your chill out time.

To keep them occupied why not drag out some board games or encourage a game of musical statues or pass the parcel?

These things will take minutes to prepare, but the kids will love it.

5. Consider a BBQ

If the weather’s good, then you might want to consider having a scrumptious BBQ.

It’s a great way to cook large amounts of food fresh and you can ask your guests to bring an array of meats and veggie treats too.

Just make sure you check everything is cooked thoroughly before serving – the last thing you want is for someone to get food poisoning!

6. Make Tidying As Easy As Possible

One of the not so great things about a party is all the tidying up after, but there are a few things you can do to help make it easier for you.

By giving everyone paper plates for food, you don’t need to worry about washing everything up later.

As well as this, it’s a good idea to have a recycle box for cans and bottles that everyone can get access to easily. If it’s in a place they pass by often, they’re likely to just toss their empties in, saving you collecting them all later on your own!

It might also be a good idea to do some tidying before bed so you don’t have to wake up to a messy house the next day. Trust us, you’ll be thankful in the morning.

7. Pick The Right Music

When you have a party it’s tempting to put all your favourite songs on and that’s that. But all the best parties have an array of music and styles for all tastes – something which you should consider too.

If you set up an iPod docking station then you can allow other people to connect their music up.

You could also set up something like Spotify and comb through their playlists until you find the perfect party collection that has something for everyone.

8. Consider Your Neighbours

Everyone loves a party, but it’s not so great for those who aren’t there who are trying to get some sleep.

Always remember to be mindful of those around you whilst you’re having fun.

Turning your music down before it gets too late and lowering your voices can be a great way to keep having fun whilst also caring for your neighbours, too.
