Journey to Spain this summer without the queues and exhaustion of flying because Silver Bay is bringing Spain to you! Last week we launched our new tapas menu at The Deck House so you, your family and friends can now experience the Spanish way of dining while enjoying the views of Silver Bay. Does this tickle your tastebuds? Then keep reading to find out more.
As we’re by the sea it’s fitting that we offer some seafood options. Go for something spicy with the chilli and lime squid with garlic aioli dip or why not try something a bit different with the fennel, peppercorn and garlic king prawn mango shooters?
If you fancy something a bit meatier then maybe the bacon and halloumi bites with a chilli and bacon jam could be the ones for you, or we also have chicken, olive and sundried tomato meatballs with a wild garlic dip. Tapas wouldn’t be complete with some chorizo so we have two different dishes to choose from, including sautéed chorizo in a deep red wine, honey, garlic and sesame glaze or patatas bravas with chorizo and a chilli, tomato, garlic and paprika sauce.
We’ve also got some veggie dishes to perfectly complement the meat and fish, including cauliflower cheese and jalapeno croquettes served with a sweet chilli dip or our Canarian potatoes. For those of you new to Canarian potatoes, also known as “wrinkly potatoes”, they’re small, salted potatoes boiled and served with mojo rojo sauce.
To make the most of this amazing selection of dishes we’ve got a great offer for you: buy five tapas plates and we’ll give you a dish of Canarian potatoes, mojo rojo style, on the house! We’ve also got more exciting developments coming to The Deck House, make sure to keep an eye out for more blogs in the coming weeks.

The Easter holidays may almost be over but we’re still feeling in that holiday mood from the success of our Easter activities. We want to thank everyone that visited Silver Bay during the holidays, it wouldn’t have been the same without you!
From scuba diving and lifeguarding to football and pilates, and not forgetting a whole selection of arts and crafts activities for the Busy Bayers, there really was something for everyone to enjoy over the holidays.
This year we changed things up slightly for the Silver Bay Easter egg hunt with people of all ages searching every nook and cranny of the park for codes to solve the final puzzle; it was great to see friends and families working together to find the codes and earn their Easter eggs.
After working up an appetite at the Easter egg hunt we served up a carvery with a selection of different meats and all the trimmings. We received some great feedback on the carvery and will be doing it again soon, keep an eye on our Facebook page for any updates.
Halfway through the holidays we welcomed prospective lodge owners to our Easter Open Day to experience Silver Bay for themselves, including our luxury lodges, facilities and beach. We hope to open our gates again soon so make sure to keep an eye out for our next email invite.
Do you feel like you need some extra rest and relaxation after the Easter holidays? Why not take advantage of our Spa Treatment of the Month? This month we’re offering ELEMIS Intensely Cleansing Salt Scrub for just £25. Call the spa on 01407 862049 to book.
We may be entering the final few days of our Easter activities but it won’t be long until the May half term where we’ll have a whole host of activities to keep the family occupied; look out for our activity newsletter, coming soon. If you’d like to find out more about how to become a lodge owner at Silver Bay or would like to arrange a visit you can request a callback from a member of our friendly team or view our online brochure.

We are thrilled to reveal we won the People Development award for the way in which we have developed our team over the past three years.
We had a wonderful evening filled with praise and celebration of all the companies based in North Wales who provide services, employment, and pride to the region. We want to express our congratulations to all the nominees including Surf Snowdonia who tipped us for the trophy for the Tourism, Leisure and Retail Business of the Year award, together with Sean Taylor from Zip World who picked up the business leader of the year, thoroughly deserved.
We are incredibly proud of the Silver Bay Holiday Village team and the impeccable service that is provided on a day-to-day basis. As much as we’re proud of the facilities and activities we provide to all our customers, we know the award winning would not be possible without the motivation, dedication and customer-focused mindset of all the Silver Bay staff.
Jamie Hughes, General Manager commented ‘winning this award really is a testament to the team effort that has enabled Silver Bay to become a truly 5-star owner experience’.
We strive to give all our customers and employees a second-to-none experience, we’re proud of everything we have and will continue to achieve. Here’s to many more incredible experiences, awards won and memories.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to catch the stars then you’re in luck! Anglesey offers some of the most beautiful and remote locations for stargazing. For those who are new to it, we’ve put together some recommendations to help you get the most out of your experience.
What are the best locations for stargazing?
The most important thing to consider when looking for your stargazing spot is light. All you need for a clear view of the night sky is a location without light pollution, so make sure to get as far away from artificial light as possible.
When’s the best time to stargaze?
The best time of year to stargaze is autumn, winter and spring; you can still stargaze in summer but there aren’t as many opportunities. If you want to see the Milky Way you’ll need to make sure there isn’t a full moon by checking the new moon times; the best time to go is just before, during and soon after each new moon.
What equipment do I need?
First of all, make sure to wrap up warm when stargazing, even in summer, as it can get chilly at night. It might also be a good idea to bring refreshments, such as a flask of tea or coffee, to keep your spirits up.
Once you’re warm and toasty, make sure you have something to sit on, such as a deck chair, so you don’t end up straining your neck.
A simple stargazing session needs no equipment at all, but if you have some binoculars or a telescope they’re definitely worth taking so you can see even more. If you’re not an experienced observer then it would also be a good idea to take a star chart or book so you know what you’re looking at.
We hope this gives you enough information and would love to see your photos, make sure to share them and tag us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
We’re also expecting a photographer to take some photos of the Milky Way from Silver Bay beach in the next couple of weeks and will be sure to share the photos with you all.
Located on a small development of only two lodges enjoying panoramic views over Silver Bay and the Llyn Peninsula beyond, we’d like to introduce you to The Lookout holiday lodge. Created to make the most of the awe-inspiring coastal views, and providing a sanctuary that’s every bit as unique as you are, The Lookout holiday lodge is a place where you can truly relax and be yourself.
The stunning architectural exterior of The Lookout lodge captures the eye outside, but it’s what’s inside this beautiful holiday home that’s really exciting. Modern and contemporary, yet still retaining an element of retro throughout, the design of this property is perfect for families of all ages.
After a long day at the beach, take it easy in the elevated lounge area or enjoy the evening sunshine on the adjoining balcony. The Lookout also features a fully fitted kitchen with all the mod cons and appliances, perfect for feeding the family or entertaining friends.
The master bedroom comes complete with a walk-in wardrobe and wet room with a large double walk-in shower. And just across the hall, leading to the second bedroom, you’ll find four unique cabin beds with quirky naval porthole style windows.
The Lookout is not one to miss but don’t just take our word for it, you can view the lodge for yourself on our next open day, taking place 12-4pm on Sunday 3rd June. This will give you the opportunity to explore the park, the lodges and the facilities Silver Bay has to offer, plus there’ll be some fizz and nibbles for you to enjoy!
If you would like to see more images of The Lookout, you can find them here. Or, if you would like to find out more about The Lookout or the open day, please call us on 01407 860860 or request a callback.
Looking for a luxury holiday lodge in Anglesey with a sea view? Then look no further! This year Silver Bay will be welcoming a new lodge development to the holiday park, Bay View. Situated on the outskirts of the park, Bay View will provide the perfect spot to take in those breathtaking views of the bay and Snowdonia beyond.
What kind of lodge can I buy on Bay View?
Bay View will consist of 25 stunning new lodges set out in two crescents of six and a front row of 13. The new lodge development will be fully landscaped and each lodge will have a hard standing parking area and extensive UPVC decking with glazed viewing panels. One of the luxury lodges available to buy on Bay View will be The Hampton from Prestige Park & Leisure Homes, a sophisticated and cleverly-designed lodge.
The Hampton has some classic architectural design features, such as timber paneling, high-pitched ceilings, exposed beams and timber floors, as well as a neutral, ocean-inspired colour scheme and natural materials. Why not take a look for yourself?
As well as the stunning interior, the new development of lodges will also feature six sectioned bi-fold doors so you can really take in that view of the sea and mountain range.
We’ll release more information as we near completion of the Bay View new lodge development so make sure to keep an eye out on our blog page and Twitter feed.

2017 has been an eventful year for us here at Silver Bay Holiday Village and before we start looking forward to what 2018 has to bring, we thought we’d take a look back on the year. Take a look at our roundup video below and keep reading to find out more.
We love a good party and 2017 was no exception…
We started off the summer season with our annual summer party in The Deck House Restaurant with something to keep all ages entertained. Mr Trix’s magic show entertained the children while our lodge owners caught up with friends, old and new, in the bar. The night was topped off with Silver Bay Summer Party favourites, Runaway Babies, playing a medley of pop classics.
For October half term we welcomed owners back for our Halloween party and this year did not disappoint. We were very impressed with the costumes this year; you can take a look at the whole collection of snaps over on our Facebook page. Here’s one to give you a taste:
December isn’t complete without a Christmas party. We were joined by owners, family and friends for a night of games, dancing and a visit from Santa! You can find out more and take a look at our photos from the night over in our Christmas round up blog.
To top off a fabulous year, we hosted our annual New Year’s Eve party. The theme in 2017 was the 80s so we expected some big hairdos and over-the-top costumes – we were not disappointed! We were joined by Freddie Mercury and the cast of Top Gun, to name a few, for a night of dancing, food and drink. You can take a look at all the costumes here but here’s one of our favourites – we especially love the mohawks!
We like to make sure we’ve got a jam-packed schedule over the holidays for our owners and Busy Bayers, from wool club and toasting marshmallows to adult only swims and spinning classes.
Over the Easter holidays our Busy Bayers were spoilt for choice with arts and crafts, baking and an Easter egg hunt.
During the summer we launched our #SaveTheBees scheme and we now have two colonies of honey bees on site; keep an eye out later this year for our very own supply of honey!
The summer saw the return of Beach Mudder where our owners battled once more to take the crown – well done again to the Psycho Unicorns! We also hosted our annual sandcastle competition and fishing competition.
New faces and places
We expanded our team this year to carry on providing a top notch service to our lodge owners. In February, we welcomed Katherine and Jacqueline to the Owner’s Services team and in May we welcomed talented pastry chef, Karan, to help elevate The Deck House menu to the next level.
We listened to your feedback and in May we launched the Chill Out Zone for teens, complete with a pool table, television, Wii, wifi and games.
For those who dreamt of owning a holiday home but wanted to visit first we opened our gates at various points throughout the year for visitors to explore our stunning lodges and facilities, accompanied by champagne and nibbles. Keep an eye out for open day dates in 2018!
In July we were thrilled to be presented a Seaside Award from Keep Wales Tidy as part of the Wales Coast Awards in recognition of Silver Bay Beach’s tidy and well-tended coast and waters. Make sure to keep sharing your beautiful beach images on Instagram with the hashtag #SilverBayBeach and we’ll feature the best ones on our Instagram page.
2017 was a busy year and we’ve only just scratched the surface of the events and activities that took place, you can read about these in more detail on our blog page.

New Year’s Eve Party
After our successful Christmas Party it’s time to look forward to New Year’s Eve. Tickets are now sold out for this event but for those of you who are attending, dig out your shoulder pads and hairspray and get ready to go back to the 80s! We look forward to seeing you all there and make sure to share your photos with us on social media.
We also have some activities taking place over the New Year’s weekend for the Busy Bayers, such as arts and crafts, baking and hair braiding. You can find out more about specific activities and times in our Christmas newsletter blog.
Preparing your holiday home for winter
We’d like to remind you that the park will be closed from 4th January to 12th February. The cold weather can sometimes cause issues so it’s important to make sure your lodge is prepared for the downtime. Here’s a couple of useful tips:
Protect all your outdoor furniture by storing it either inside your shed or inside your lodge; any heavy glass-top tables will need turning upside down and securing
Turn your boiler to FROST STAT and turn your water supply off at the stopcock, you can make sure the system has run dry by opening all the taps. Alternatively, you may request a DRAIN DOWN, this will drain your holiday water supply, including the heating system, and antifreeze will be put into the system to avoid pipes freezing and bursting
We’d also like to remind you that the boat park will be secured by bollards over the season closure so please ensure all valuables and electronic equipment is removed from your boat if possible.
Spa Beauty Offers
You’ve still got some time left to make the most of our December spa and beauty offers.
Our treatment of the month is the ELEMIS Couture Touch Face & Body treatment, reduced from £60 to £40. The 60 minute treatment consists of an ELEMIS hands-on TOUCH facial with a personalised Freestyle Deep Tissue Massage or Deeper than Deep Hot Stone Massage.
If you don’t have time for a full treatment why not pick up our product of the month – ELEMIS Skin Buff. This deep cleansing exfoliator re-energises dull and lifeless skin, leaving skin brighter and allowing it to breathe.
You can find out more about our spa treatments here.
Finally, we’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and for those not able to attend the New Year’s Eve party, a Happy New Year!
