Every August we invite all of our holiday village residents to come together and celebrate Summer in style at the annual Silver Bay Summer Party.

This year was one of our best events to date thanks to our stunning new Deck House facilities, and it was fantastic to see the smiling faces of our residents having a wonderful night with their friends and loved ones!

A family at the silver bay summer party

Alongside drinks and food, the party atmosphere quickly became contagious thanks to our cover band The Runaway Babies. It was impossible not to hit the dance floor when the band took to the stage, which you’ll soon see from our videos and photos below!

The dance floor at the deck house restaurant.

We’re glad everyone had such a superb night in our brand new refurbished restaurant, lounge, and bar. We’re already thinking about how we can top it next year! But for now, why not see if you and your family made the video below?

If you’d like to find out more about The Runaway Babies take a look at the video below or visit their website here.

Now that the Summer party is over, we’re looking forwards to remaining celebrations during 2016.

As usual, our Halloween party will be happening in October, and the little ones will get the chance to don their very best fancy dress gear. As well as this, Father Christmas will be making his annual visit towards the end of November. Word down the grapevine is that he can’t wait to see our new refurbishment!

Finally, we have the hugely popular New Year’s Eve party scheduled in at the end of December. We’ll be celebrating in style once more and bringing the new year in for the first time in the brand new Deck House.

If you think you and your family would fit right in at the Silver Bay parties, and would love the chance to own a lodge, then why not download our free eBrochure right here?

2015 certainly went out with a bang at Silver Bay, and our residents came together for a NYE party to remember!

Alongside the Hollywood theme, guests had the option of dressing up (which we were glad to see some people did!), and everyone enjoyed drinks, food and a party that attendees of all ages thoroughly enjoyed.

Christmas is a fun and enjoyable time for all the family, but after they’ve spent countless days at the gorgeous Silver Bay pool and on the beach, what else can you do to keep them from boredom during the Christmas period in your luxury holiday home?

There are plenty of fun and simple activities that are the perfect way to keep the children occupied during the break – so explore this blog for some exciting ideas that everyone can enjoy!

1. Bake a gingerbread house

If you’re trying to teach your children more about baking, then Christmas is the perfect time to do it. Baking a gingerbread house and allowing them to decorate it with icing and sweet treats is a great activity that will get everyone feeling festive.

And if a gingerbread house sounds a little too ambitious for you, then regular gingerbread men or biscuits also make the perfect backdrop for some festive decoration. Just let your imagination run wild!

2. Put on your own Nativity play

The Nativity play is one of the most pivotal moments in the Christmas calendar, so why not put on one of your own?

You don’t need to go over the top with fancy dress and props, but a little imagination and a video camera to watch your efforts back on at a later date can create some truly magical memories that will last a lifetime.

3. Create your own decorations

If you enjoy being creative and feel this is something the kids will benefit from too, then why not consider making your own decorations? Paper chains are one of the easiest items to make. All you need to do is cut coloured paper into strips and then create a loop with one of them.

By threading new loops through old ones till they link together, you can really create some beautiful decorations with minimal effort that won’t make a mess!

4. Get the board games out

Christmas tends to be a time of playing games and bonding, so why not dig out any old board games you have and spend some time playing them?

It’s a great way to bring the family together and will ensure you have some effortless fun close to hand when you feel like they might need some extra entertainment!

5. Have a Christmas movie night

Christmas films are a joy to watch for all, and if you want to have an extra special family night then why not consider putting your favourites on with a big bowl of popcorn?

It’ll also be the perfect time to indulge in the gingerbread you baked from earlier too!

6. Read the Night Before Christmas

There’s nothing as delightful as watching a child’s face light up with Christmas excitement, and to really get them in the mood for Christmas why not read the Night Before Christmas to them?

It’s a lovely tradition that you can adopt into your family every year, so we recommend that you give it a go and get them all excited for the big day.

7. Write a Christmas list to Father Christmas

Kids love writing Christmas lists to Father Christmas, so if they haven’t already then why not encourage them to this year?

If you’re worried that they’re going to launch unsuspected presents at you at the last minute, then perhaps make the focus of the letter them explaining why they deserve some lovely gifts!

It’s a joyful activity that encourages good behaviour, and the kids will have fun doing it too!

Christmas at Silver Bay

Silver Bay is a beautiful place throughout the year, and visiting your luxury lodge during the festive period can be a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of Christmas.

To find out more about our luxury lodges then give us a call on 01407 860 111. You can also view our online brochure here to really get a feel of what Silver Bay is all about!

Christmas day is the event we spend most of December planning. Whether it’s organising presents or planning what we need to buy for the gorgeous Christmas roast, we often have little time to think about anything else.

But what about New Year’s Eve?

This magical party night certainly ensures that everyone leaves with a sense of optimism by the fresh start offered by the New Year.

So with that in mind, we’ve put together and exciting list of everything you need to do to ensure you have the best New Year’s Eve ever in your luxury lodge here at Silver Bay – and also so that you can welcome 2016 with open, happy arms.

1. Dress up

Everyone loves donning their glad rags, and we’re no different here at Silver Bay. New Year’s Eve is a great chance to bring in 2016 looking and feeling your best, so invest in that extra special dress or suit and ensure you have a lovely night!

2. Have your own pre-party in your luxury lodge

Whether you’re planning on going to the annual Silver Bay New Year’s eve party, or perhaps have to stay back at the holiday lodge with very young children, a pre-party can be a great way to celebrate the New Year without having to stay up extra late.

Invest in party poppers, put out a few nibbles and get the music flowing. New Year’s Eve can be celebrated before midnight if you’d like – it’s up to you!

3. Attend Silver Bay’s New Year’s Eve Party

Every year we host our annual Silver Bay New Year’s Eve Party – and this year is no different! Come together with the other Silver Bay residents as we throw a party to remember once more.

The best thing about our event is that we ensure the kids are also entertained. This frees you up to relax too, and ensures everyone in your party has an exciting New Year’s Eve.

We certainly hope we’ll be seeing you there!

4. Come up with some party games

When you’re all gathered around the table with drinks and nibbles in hand, it can be a great idea to come up with your own party games.

Card games are something everyone can enjoy. Everything from Gin Rummy through to a simple game of snap are great games that will keep all the family entertained.

If you don’t have any cards, then a simple piece of paper and pen can help create a great game of Who Am I? All you need to do is get everyone person in your group to write down a name of a famous person, and then pass this name to the person next to them. You have to then stick it on your head and guess who you are by taking it in turns asking yes and no questions.

It’s hours of fun!

5. Pace yourself

If you are drinking then it’s also worth making sure you get plenty of water in your system too! The last thing you want is to miss the New Year countdown because you fell asleep before it happened! Take it slow and and pace yourself to ensure you have the best evening possible.

6. Get all the family together for the big countdown

One of the best parts of New Year’s Eve is, of course, the final countdown to the New Year’s Day. Having all the family round is a key part of this because of course everyone shares hugs and wishes everyone the best.

When the clock hits midnight, pop on Auld Lang Syne, hold hands and sing along together. It’s one of those extra special moments when you get to really show your loved ones how much you appreciate them, and the usually show it in return, so don’t miss out.

New Year’s Eve 2015/2016 at Silver Bay

We had an amazing New Year’s Eve at Silver Bay this year, and we have some wonderful images to match too!

Everyone had a fantastic evening, and our Hollywood fancy dress theme was certainly a success!

We love Christmas, and we do our very best to make sure that everyone who comes to our luxury UK holiday lodges during the festive period have a splendid time that all the family can enjoy.

To do this, we host one of the most magical and excellent Christmas parties in Anglesey year in and year out – and 2015 was no different.

This Christmas the party took place on the 28th of November, and it was bigger and better than ever before.

We had a brilliant turn out as festive guests emerged from their holiday homes, and everyone had a great time!

There was everything on offer from tasty festive treats through to a few special magical guest appearances which included Father Christmas himself!

Take a look at our Christmas Party video below so that you can view all the magical festivities for yourself.

Silver Bay Christmas Party

As you can see, families of all types had a brilliant time at our Christmas party – and you may have noticed a few special festive guests that made an appearance. Not only did we have Father Christmas himself, we also had the Frozen favourites Anna, Elsa and Olaf on hand to entertain the children too!

The children thoroughly enjoyed meeting and interacting with all of the characters, and they adored telling Father Christmas about all their Christmas wishes and dreams. It really was a joy to see their little faces light up when presented with a lovely little present too!

The festivities continued with a Christmas disco, and it was a delight to see everyone come together and dance, laugh and sing.

On top of this, there was some truely scrumptious plates of food created by our very own Hay House Bistro chefs that made sure everyone had full stomachs as well as full hearts.

Jamie Watson, regular Silver Bay guest, was in attendance at the party with his family. He had a splendid time, and thought this party was even more special than the rest:

‘The kids loved this years Christmas party, from meeting Santa (who has got to be the best Santa ever!) to dancing with the cast from Frozen. The Silver Bay Christmas party always marks the start of Christmas for us!’

Christmas is nearly here, and we’d like to take a quick moment to say we wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope to see your faces sometime in the near future at Silver Bay!

Christmas in a Silver Bay Holiday Home

If you’re interested in becoming a part of the Silver Bay community and attending our seasonal activities, including our Christmas Party and Annual Summer Opening Party, then be sure to call us today on 01407 860 111.

We’re located on Anglesey, and we pride ourselves on offering a fantastic place where the family came come together. Whether you choose to venture to our private beach, or perhaps relax in our spa, you can be sure everyone will have a holiday to remember at Silver Bay time and time again.

Now that the Christmas adverts have started to appear on television, the nation is turning their attention toward the festive season – and one of the key parts of everyone’s Christmas is the decorations.

So we thought we better give our holiday home owners a little festive decoration inspiration!

If you’re looking for ways to get creative this Christmas look no further.

We’re here to help you make your holiday home, and your regular home, a festive paradise!

1. Experiment with new colours

When the festive season arrives, a lot of people will dig out the old red or gold decorations and set to work on their tree – but why not try something a little different this year?

Black tinsel trees filled with green and blue decorations can make a big statement, as can a snowy, white tree full of purple and pinks.

Don’t be afraid to go modern, from big trees to small trees, to thin trees and chunky trees – anything can be festive and magical with just a little imagination!

2. Go XXL with your baubles

We all know baubles tend to be the size of our fist or smaller, but what if you were to take your decorations one step further this year?

Baubles don’t have to be restricted to the tree, and taking the time to make and decorate some paper mache baubles with all the family makes for an excellent festive display that will leave any visitors admiring your handiwork!

3. Get creative with pinecones

pinecones silver bay anglesey north wales holiday village

There’s pinecones in abundance at this time of year, so why not make the most of them and use them to decorate your home?

Spray painting them colours such as white and silver will make them pop, and then you can incorporate them into wreaths or turn them into Christmas decorations.

Put your heads together and come up with some creative ways to display them – and be sure to let us know what you come up with!

4. Make a Christmas collage

We’re sure that if you dig through your old photographs you’ll have some amazing Christmas images from years gone by, so why not make a seasonal collage?

Every year you can pull it out and put it on display, and you can also add more and more with each passing Christmas. It really will be a tribute to the happy Christmases gone by that you can all reminisce around!

5. Create your own card displays

A bit of string and some cute pegs will go a long way when it comes to creating your own card display.

Be sure the string is stuck up well to avoid the cards falling down, and make sure it can take a bit of weight (we’re sure you know Christmas cards can be quite heavy sometimes!)

Try opting for festive coloured pegs and then hang any cards you receive from your display.

It will look beautiful no matter where you hang it.

6.Decorate everywhere, including your book shelves

If you have a bookshelf at your lodge or at home, a great way to make it a little more festive is to wrap your books up in Christmas wrapping paper.

Be careful not to damage the covers when you do (a good way to avoid this is by not taping the paper down but simply folding it around the cover). Finish it off by adding a few festive ornaments and it will really bring your bookshelf to life with festive cheer!

7. Create a magnificent wreath

door wreath anglesey north wales silver bay holiday village

Nothing decorates a front door better for Christmas than a magical wreath. You can choose to go for one already put together from a shop, or if you’d like to create something really special then we recommend you flex your arty fingers!

Wreaths can be made out of a lot of things. Some of our favourites include felt repurposed as flowers, as well as festive coloured balls of string repurposed into a circular display.

We also like the idea of purchasing some festive ribbon and tying them in bows. They can then also be pinned in a circular fashion to create a striking wreath that people will remember.

8. Encourage Christmas cheer with a chalkboard

A small chalkboard can be a great way to get all the family excited for Christmas. Counting down to the special day as well as leaving messages for Santa is sure to get the Christmas spirit running rife throughout your household.

So do your best and ramp up the excitement even more this year. Remember, the festive seasons really is as magical as you make it!

Halloween and the October half term are both fast approaching, and we think this is one of the best seasons to spend some quality time with all the family in your luxury holiday home on Anglesey.

Here at Silver Bay Holiday Village, we’re ready for the spooky and mischievous Halloween season, and we’ve come up with a few ideas to make Halloween 2015 unforgettable for you and your family.

Take your Halloween celebrations above and beyond this year and check out our recommendations for a spooktastic stay at Silver Bay.

Dress Up

One of the best parts of Halloween is scaring each other – and nothing brings a family closer together than dressing up as spooky ghouls!

You can bring your own outfits with you, or if you’re looking for inspiration we’re offering a ‘Get Glam’ (or should we call it ‘Grim’!) session on the 31st of October at 6pm. This will include Halloween dress-up and ghoulish face paints to transform your little angels into little terrors for the infamous Silver Bay Halloween disco!

Carve Pumpkins

Pumpkins were originally carved on All Hallows Eve in order to keep sinister spirits away, and it’s still a tradition practiced worldwide today. So why not get all the family involved in this creative and fun Halloween pastime?

pumpkin carving silver bay holiday village anglesey

Children love planning frightful pumpkin designs and this is a great family activity in itself! You might even want to grab the popcorn and beanbags and watch some spooky family horror films for inspiration. Once the design decisions have been made, your little Frankenstein can carve their monster creation under your guidance.

If you’re worried about the first aid kit coming out, permanent markers work just as well to draw the design directly onto the pumpkin.

Once ready, be sure to place them outside your holiday lodge complete with some atmospheric lighting to finish. Your pumpkin will light up the neighbourhood, and you might just spark a bit of pumpkin designing competition amongst the Silver Bay community!

Be sure to bring your family creation along to Silver Bay’s annual Halloween Pumpkin Carving Competition in the Hay House Bistro and let it go to the vote!

We’re hosting our annual Silver Bay Halloween party this year, and there’ll be even more face painting, fun and games than ever before!

Our Hay House Bistro will be serving a tasty, hot buffet at 7pm for everyone to enjoy, and then at 8pm we will have the moment that everyone has been waiting for – the judging of the pumpkin carving competition!

If you have a scary pumpkin, be sure to bring it along. We’re going to display them along the bar so that everyone can see the hard work and talent our Silver Bayer’s have put in!

The party lasts from 6:30pm until midnight, so be sure to book and call reception on 01407 860 111 to reserve a space for your family.

Spooky Picnic

Silver Bay’s private beach is stunning, we’re sure you’ll agree, but it doesn’t just have to be appreciated in the hot, summer months.

It’s also the perfect place to visit during the autumn season too, and you can really set the scary scene by bringing some of your Halloween decorations with you and having a spooky Halloween picnic!

Take it to the next level by indulging in some scary foods such as ghost bananas or pumpkin oranges, and then bring a torch and tell some exciting ghost stories! It really will be a Halloween to remember on the shores of Silver Bay beach.

Halloween Baking

When you’re back in your luxury lodge, why not do a little bit of baking? One of our favourite ideas that’s simple to do is Halloween eyeball cake pops  – and they look especially effective if you put them on forks instead of lollipop sticks!

If you want to create something that doesn’t require baking, then rice crispy cakes covered in spooky Halloween gummies are also a great idea, and you can also create little Oreo Halloween spiders with nothing more than some biscuits and strawberry laces.

Let your little ones show of their hard work to your luxury lodge neighbours. Everyone’s sure to enjoy the tasty treats you cook up in your kitchen, so put your chef hats and aprons on and get creating.

Create spooky decorations

Halloween is the perfect season to really encourage everyone to flex their creative fingers, and what better way to do this than by making some spooky decorations?

Whether you decide to colour in ghosts and ghouls, or perhaps fancy making some paper chains covered in orange and black glitter, there’s a range of things you can do to get everyone excited for All Hallow’s Eve and make sure your lodge look the part for this spooky evening, too.

Halloween Treasure Hunt

Halloween ghosts silver bay holiday village anglesey

This season is all about munching on tasty treats – so why not make the kids work for it and hide them around your lodge/house or outdoors?

You can leave clues or just set them out searching, it’s entirely up to you. They’ll have a great time, and it might provide a bit of peace and quiet for a while if you’re after some down time too.

Paper Mache Halloween Pinatas

You can always head out and purchase a pinata for some Halloween excitement, but if you want to get everyone involved then creating your own paper mache pinatas can make for a very fun Halloween activity indeed.

Once they’re dry, everyone can get stuck in and paint them with their favourite spooky patterns.

The children are sure to love a range of sweets raining down on them from above, so go all out this Halloween and create some pinatas to remember!

Halloween at Silver Bay

We’re always excited by Halloween, and this year more than ever we’re ready for a fantastic time!

Why not make this Halloween the best one you’ve had yet and have some spooktacular fun at Silver Bay?
